As Children Grow...

As your children grow you teach them about the basic rules of life; pick up after yourself, be kind to others, do as I say not as I do. One thing I've noticed now that my son has grown into a young adult is some of the things that used to upset me are now a symbol he was home and all is well. It's his first summer after graduation. I told him to keep his job but the rest of the time enjoy life with his friends. I explained this will be his last opportunity to "do nothing" then life takes over. So, as you can imagine, I don't see him much. Now when I see his flip flops left on the bathroom floor I smile instead of sigh. It's a sign he was home and all is right. If you have little ones at home, cherish every moment. Truly, before you know it, they are grown and off living their lives.
