Interesting thing happened to me yesterday. After hearing about yet another school being accused of being prejudice for saying the pledge of allegiance I posted on my least favorite social media site. We'll call it "Ol Blue".
Here is what I posted:
Here is what I posted:
When did diversity & inclusion begin to exclude white people and Americans? It's like we aren't allowed to celebrate our heritage or rights anymore because when we do we are "excluding" EVERYONE else.
My post never made it to see the light of day!! So what Ol Blue is telling me is it's okay to rant about our President or local cases that are all over the news but how dare we share a thought that includes the words diversity inclusion white Americans or is about oppression. I can read peoples extremely disgusting jokes against men or women, hear all about someone's personal health issues, see everyone's drunken escapades, rants about gun laws, horrendous videos, but absolutely positively can not post about the fact I am worried about losing my right to D&I as a white American.
Now before you start posting hatred to me, let me explain my stance. I love all human beings no matter what religion, race, sexuality, heritage, ethnicity .....you get my drift. In fact I enjoy meeting those different from me a great deal. As a result of exploring all differences we learn more about ourselves and others. It's fascinating truly to learn the commonalities and differences of each and when possible even enjoy new experiences myself in doing so. I think instead of saying "no" we should embrace the melting pot of America and celebrate it daily. After all, wasn't our country founded as "Land of the Free".
Another great post!
ReplyDeleteNative Americans, Slaves, Women, some of these folks during that time period may not agree with the "Land of the Free" bit? Reality is that "freedom" is a manufactured illusion by those in control to keep the "masses" "fat, dumb, and happy" so they don't "rock the boat!"
ReplyDeleteIf you constantly tell someone that they are free, they eventually begin to believe it even in the face of undeniable daily evidence in their lives that indeed they are anything but "free!" The censorship you have encountered is an obvious manifestation of the point I am making. In France, the government fears the people; in the U.S. the people fear the government!
The verbiage "Your comment will be visible after approval." after I "posted" my original comment is unequivocally, open censorship in and of itself, further reinforcing my original post!
ReplyDeleteJust an fyi..I read all comments before listing them on my blog. It's not Google. This is to keep my promise to my readers there will not be any hatred in my blogs. To date all comments have been posted, even if I don't necessarily agree with them.
